The aim of the sessions is to introduce you to the craft of creating yarns from raw fibres. We will begin with various types of wool, progressing over the months to plant and other animal fibres.
We will start with the ancient craft of finger-spinning, work on different types of drop-spindle and then later, practise on a spinning wheel.
We will also learn a little about the history and background of the production of textiles.
Each student will learn and progress at their own pace, and so need not attend every session; however, each session will include a different theme.
